I was ecstatic when my high school friend, Sami, asked me to come be a part of her wedding. I drove back to my hometown in the Quad Cities for the weekend and things couldn't have been better.  Although I'm a Des Moines wedding photographer, I was honored to make the trip for Sami and her soon-to-be husband!

We had the entire area of Short Hills Country Club to capture the whole day.  The beautiful greenscape and the weather made for a natural, sophisticated backdrop for the day.  

The setting was beautiful.  All of the details came together and everything from the colors to the floral arrangements had a playful palette, just like Sami and David.

Going into the first look, Sami was excited with the anticipation of seeing her groom and David's eyes lit up as he saw Sami in her wedding dress for the first time.  It was fun to witness this giddy moment between Sami and David, knowing that they've been in each others' lives since high school.

The ceremony was emotional as David teared up at the sight of Sami coming down the aisle.  It was a beautiful gathering of family and friends and magically, the rain held off for just minutes after the ceremony ended.

It was wonderful seeing Sami again, and just as great to get to know her new husband. I appreciated being a part of their wedding, and experienced firsthand the love and support that will guide their marriage for a lifetime. Thanks Sami and David, I wish you the best!
