My name is Alexander Michl (pronounced Michael, but not spelled that way) and I'm a Des Moines wedding and engagement photographer. I'm thankful to be married to my wonderful wife, Allison, who's my partner throughout all of life's adventures. I'm a Christ follower, a designer, a music creator, a climber and an explorer. I love a great cup of coffee, preferably through a filter into a Chemex,  and road trips with my wife . I am constantly inspired by the world created and have always been captivated by the perspective

I offer myself on the wedding day. I'm a sincere husband who understands the strain and stress of planning a wedding while also knowing the joys of a beautiful marriage. I appreciate the slightest of smiles because of the emotion behind them. In all of the coordination and planning, I want your images to be ones you'll love, but I also want every single second of documenting your love to be filled with joy. You should be comfortable and trust that your love will be shown. I'm thankful for it. I strive to align my work with what you and your soon-to-be-spouse care about most. I love to capture your love.

I married my beautiful wife not long ago. Every day we grow closer together and every day I love her more than I thought I ever could. It sometimes requires sacrifice, like doing the dishes instead of watching the entire Star Wars collection, but through it all, it’s beautiful. It was at the altar when I said, “until death do us part” that the covenant before God became reality. Now we have a son on the way and I have no idea what the next chapter has in store. However, I know for certain that it all started with Christ and I’m comforted by that.

Your first chapter, where is all starts, is marriage. Marriage is a beautiful and crazy ride and it officially begins on your wedding day. Of course, there have been countless dates and meetings with each other’s friends and families, but your wedding will be the last day of “I” and the first day of “we”. The images from this day will be the start of your heirlooms of a life together as “us”. They’ll occupy a place inside your heart, encouraging precious memories. 

Your wedding day will go incredibly fast, yet, five months or fifty years later, you’ll sit down with your spouse and page through the moments when you started your life together. These will be the images you share with your grandchildren, enjoy during every anniversary and hold tightly when you must keep the faith through the darkest times. 

With this in mind, I strive to make images that tell the truth of who you are, which transcends past clever posing and wedding fads. It’s honest and beautiful in the most sincere way. It’s worthy of a lifetime together.
